Grief support continue throughout the summer! Escape to summer camp to help with healing.

Join us and let the healing begin.

We are glad to offer grief support sessions throughout the summer to continue the healing we work toward during the rest of the year.

We will use art and music during our summer support group sessions to help participants express their feelings and remember loved ones.

Please note our summer sessions are hosted at the Michael's Place Family Support Center every Monday evening, except for July 4th and Labor Day, September 5th, 2011.

Summer Support Sessions Location:
Michael’s Place Family Support Center at 1144 Boon St.
(Behind Traverse Motors, on the south end of Hastings St.)


Monday Evenings:
6:00 pm - Dinner begins - please bring a “pound of” something to share
6:45 - 7:45 pm - Support group sessions

• Children and teen support groups are divided by age
• Adult support groups are based on the type of loss. Adult groups include:
  • Parents grieving the death of an infant
  • Parents grieving the death of an older child
  • Adults grieving the death of a loved one by suicide
  • Adults grieving the death of a spouse, parent, sibling or friend, not by suicide

Before your first meeting...
It is helpful (although not mandatory) to meet with the Program Coordinator prior to attending your first support group meeting. This meeting will help you understand more about Michael’s Place and how our groups work. It also helps Michael’s Place learn how to best support you. Please call us at 231-947-6453 to set up this appointment. Michael’s Place office is open Monday - Thursday, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm.
