Michael’s Place Protocol Regarding COVID-19

Coronavirus Protocol at Michael’s Place

March 16, 2020

Dear Michael’s Place Families and Supporters:

Michael’s Place is diligently following public health recommendations in effort to stop or slow the spread of COVID-19 because the health of our community and the grieving families we serve is of utmost importance to us.  In light of the important need for physical distancing, our staff will be working remotely and will be available for scheduled phone support. Our office building will be closed until further notice.

We deeply understand the sense of isolation that grief brings, and we know that sense is exacerbated under our present world conditions.  We remain committed to providing healthy healing opportunities and will do so by:

  • Providing one-to-one support via telephone with our social workers Mondays through Thursdays upon request
  • Offering resources and innovative grief care to families with bereaved children via email, mail, and phone
  • Continuing to provide guidance and direction via telecommunication to school administration and workplaces experiencing a grief crisis
  • In-person support group services held at an outdoor location.

Please contact us at GoodGrief@MichaelsPlace.net for your grief support needs. CLICK HERE for a list of  Support Opportunities available.

We will re-evaluate the needs of our community and the need for physical distancing on or before May 31st and make necessary changes at that time.

We care very much about our grieving individuals and families and those in need of bereavement services whom we have yet to meet.  We will continue to create new ways to care for the bereaved through this difficult time.

With deep care for all of you,

Mindy Buell

Executive Director
